Hi everyone,

Guess you've got another newbie joining your board

Okay, here goes the Intro: I'm a Filo/Australian living in Australia, 26 years old, female... what else... that should do

I've never really been overseas before (except when I came here from the Philippines - and I don't think that really counts!) but am planning a 1-2 month trip end of 2006 to Quito, Ecuador to go volunteering, learn Spanish, and see Ecaudor!! Before I do that, I hope to spend a week in San Fran (spend New Year there), and coming home maybe stop over in Vancouver and NZ (and maybe HK?). I have absolutely no idea how to fit that all in (as well as perhaps weekend trips to countries near Ecuador during my stay in Sth America??) on a shoestring budget (yes yes, I've ordered the Lonely Planet guide from my local library ) .

O yeah before I end this long post - can you tell me a little bit about choosing backpacks, can I get money easily out of foreign ATMs??? Hehhe... kidding. I'll make sure to read the FAQs and pinned topics (but no can't guarantee it!)

Ciao!

wow, sounds like an awesome adventure. It also sounds like it'll be alot of airfares to pay for as well.

Welcome to the boards.

Your trip certainly does sound like it will be an adventure!!! And don't worry, if you ask a question that has been asked MANY times before, we will only select a few people to jump down your throat!! Just kidding. A lot of the answers to your questions can be found on the selected boards though, but if there is something you can't find, don't be afraid to ask! And enjoy your Lonely Planet!

Welcome, and yeah, those questions and more are all answered in the other threads...

Keep us posted on your travel dates, there's tpunks all over the place, and the trip is always better if you can do a meet-up along the way!
