Hello everyone :D

I decided to join this site as I'm seriuosly thinking of backpacking this August!!! Through Europe.

Just want to say hi and hopefully get to know some of you and get to learn from your experiences.

I'm originally from Portugal but now live in Toronto. 22 year old student from the University of Toronto :D

For any of you who haven't been here are some pictures from Portugal, one of hte most beautiful countries i've been to (Considering i've only been to 4 that's not saying much )

THis is a picture of some of Porto.

This is a statue in front of one of their courts.
~

Picture of the entrance to a Church in Porto

One of the many many narrow streets in Porto

A giant monument to fishing in Porto. Itºs a gigantic fishing net.

This is the only castle i have been to so far. Itºs called Castelo do Queijo. Itºs more like a beach fort.

This place is located in Lisbon, Portugal and was not destroyed by the Great Earthquake/Tsunami in 18th century.

It's called Mosteiro dos Jeronimos.. It's a monestary

This pic below is what exemplifies Manuelina Architecture. Very very ornate entrances and full of ocean/fishing/sailing symbols.

This is inside the monestary:

This is one of my fave monestaries in portugal. (the one below) it's like 20 minutes from my house in portugal and it's on top
of a mountain.
The City below is that of Braga (3rd largest portuguese city)

Hey and Welcome. There's tons of great stuff on the message boards, especially about Europe backpacking, so I say go for it! Great pics of Portugal. I was there this summer and went to Lisbon and Lagos. I loved Lisbon because it didn't seem quite so touristy as other major cities. I especially loved the Alfama area (I think that's what it was called...) Lagos was such a fun party town!! Anyway, hope you have fun planning your trip!

Hey, welcome. Wicked pics. I've wanted to go to Portugal ever since I worked with a couple of Portugese guys and they told me how cool the place is. Also, glad to have another notch on the Toronto belt for the TPunk community. I'm also at U of T, not a bad place to study.

Ohhh Thanks! It helped that I took over 3000 pictures and I justchose the best ones afterwards

So far I have been to Canada (Limited to Toronto and Montreal), USA (Limited to Buffalo for great shopping when the Canadian Dollar is strong , Portugal (ALL OVER Greatest trip ever so far) and Spain (Right above the border of Northern Portugal, just for the beaches)

Right Now my plans for Europe are (In order of travel): England (3 days), Paris (3 Days), Versailles (1 Day), Rome (3 Days), Florence (1 Day), Venice (1 Day), Milan or Pisa/Cinquo Terra (sp?) (1 Day I'm still deciding over which one), Interlaken Switzerland (2 Days), SOMEWHERE IN GERMANY (Still undecided I have no clue 3 days), Amsterdam (2 days), Brussels (2 Days), Edingborough (3 Days), Back to London (1 day)

Does that sound good? Is it too ambitious?? Any Recomendations anyone?? Should I cut down on some cities to spend more time in others? I'm soo inexperienced in this
