Hello everyone,
A bit about me and my plans:
I am a 22 year old male from Australia. I have never been to another Country before have always been facinated by European Culture and lifestyle.
My biggest obsession is Eurodance music, and this is my main reason for wanting to see Europe.
Music really is my life, and I would love to go to big dance events and nightclubs in Countries like the UK,Italy,Germany,Belgium and Sweden.
A friend of mine last year said she was planning a trip to Europe, and thats what really got me exited about travelling myself. We were originally going to travell together, but it hasn't worked out that way, as the best time for me is to start travelling in June rather than later in the year.

I really am in 2 minds about travelling solo. Despite other people I know who have done it and loved it, I do worry that it will get lonely, and its much better to have people to share the experience with. I do hope I meet other people who want to go to the same places and nightclubs as me, but what are the odds of that?
I've never been to a nightclub or music event by myself, and would probably find it embarrassing even in a country where no one knows me. I do love dancing Solo, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

On the other hand, I really feel like I have to travel this year, as I will never have a better oportunity. I have the money, I dont have alot of commitments preventing me from going, and my job's driving me crazy and I need to leave. Basically I need a change from the boring routine life, and if I dont go now I know I'll regret it.
Whenever I'm talking to someone who has travelled and they hear that I'm uncertian about going, they always say "you have to go". Its strange, 3 people have said those exact words to me recentlly, but It makes me feel more confident about going solo.

Its going to be a great personal experience, and I really am exited and slightly terrified.
I will be staying in hostels, and hope to travel at least 2 months Starting early June, depending how long my money lasts.

I haven't made any concrete plans, but here is a rough plan of what I hope to do:
(If you're not familiar with dance music, you'll probably wonder what the hell I'm talking about!)

United Kingdom
Fly to the UK in Early June.
Check out the great dance scene there.
Happy hardcore and rave are still pretty big there.
Check out the Ministry of sound, and find out where DJ Alex K and Stu Allen are playing.

Germany
Mainly Berlin I think. Germany has always facinated me and I would love to spend a fair bit of time there.
I'm not sure if I should wait untill the world cup is over, as hostells seem to be filling up fast.
There are alot of great eurodance/trance artists and DJ's from Germany, and I would like to find some nightclubs
that play this sort of music (eg.Brooklyn Bounce, groove coverage).

Belgium
Seems to be a great place for Trance (artists like Ian Van Dahl, Lasgo, Milk Inc.).
Would love to check out nightclubs there.

Sweden
(Stockholm)
Its amazing how much awesome music comes from this Country, and I would love to See one of my favourite artists 'E-type' perform if possible.

Italy
Not sure what I want do there, all I know is I love Italian dance music.
Might watch some basketball games there.

Netherlands
(Amsterdam)

Countries I would like to go if I have enough time and money (probably wishful thinking):

Hungary
Slovenia
Romania
Ukraine
Not sure but maybe
Switzerland (to see DJ bobo, 1st August)
I would like to go to Ibiza, but I think I would waste too much money there.

I would love to hear from anyone who is going to the same places and likes clubbing.
Also any solo travellers who are looking for a travell partner for some of their trip.

Damn, thats the longest post I've ever written

Well I can't help you with the music scene, but I'm going to join the "You've got to do it!" crowd.

Personally, I've never found it difficult to meet people while travelling solo, and I'm sure that you'll meet people who share your taste in music and would be up for going clubbing with you - or people that may know nothing about eurodance, but would be up for going clubbing with you. Remember everyone going travelling is up for meeting new people and experiencing new things!

And check out the "traveling alone" boards to get an idea of how many Tpunks are going to be around this summer - you can always try to meet up with them en route.

Have an awesome summer (and yes, I'd personally avoid Germany in June if World Cup isn't your scene...come later, when things have settled down a bit. If you like baseball, one of our tpunks is coaching a team in Italy this summer, maybe you could drop by and see a game...)

Hi Mate, I think I will also start by saying "you have got to do it" even though you are sick of it hearing it.... I am an Aussie (male in case you are wandering) and have been in London for 2 yrs but visa is up on 1st June and will be touring around europe solo for about 2-3 months hopefully.

From what I have experienced most people are willing to chat and hang out as they are also out for a good time. I am not that worried about travelling solo and the best advice I could give and one the i will try and remember myself is to always chat to the people around you!.

Have a good one!

Thanks for the encouraging replys.
I told my boss yesterday about my plans to travell for a few months, and the look on her face wasn't pretty!. Oh'well, too late to change my mind now.
As for which places in the UK I'm visiting, I'm really not too sure yet.
From what little reseach I've done, these places seem interesting:

Fusion Nightclub
Workington
Cumbria

Club Isis (photos I've seen look awesome)
Liverpool

DNA (great music, but looks a bit small)
Blackpool

Club M (capacity of 7000!)
Tall trees
Cleveland

A pretend clubber? what is that? Is it because of my taste in music?
Thanks for the offer of a comprehensive guide, but I do have alot of information already, ie. clubbing mags from UK, and from websites.
Have you been to any of these clubs?
