Well I'm back after about two weeks of desperately working on a paper. Just turned it in and it ended up being 21 pages. Now I know to those of you who write for a living, that's not a lot, and to the scientists and engineers who turn in lab reports all the time it's not bad, but I'm a mathematician, so this was 21 pages on "Local Curvature of Curves and Surfaces in R^3," needless to say the most boring thing I have ever written.

Anyway, Just thought I'd say hey and happy birthday to all those I missed!

I hear you man, although I haven't had to write a 20 page paper in about a year tonight I'm writing one about the bridget jones diary and its gender themes . I've got to say that watching the movie itself is not a good time, let alone writing a 7 pager on it.

Anyway, congrats on finishing that bad boy up. I'm sure it feels like your almost in the clear, i know i do.

God that sucks. I have to write papers but at least its interesting things like "The Palestinian Question in Israeli Media" and "Sentimentalism, Sensationalism and Honesty in American Indian Art"... That second one was due two days ago and I just got my research finished. Really I should be working on it, not messing around on the boards. Something about 3500 words in five hours kind of scares me so I end up shooting myself in the foot and doing nothing.

God dont you hate this time of year?

Good luck to everyone else on those papers. Belle that Israeli Media paper sounds pretty interesting, maybe you'd be willing to let me read it when it's done?

I've got a report due on thursday on what my team would bid for an offshore block, what our economics project and where we would drill two more wells. It's six week project that my team (jokingly labeled team powerhouse) started yesterday.

Sweet, it’s good to know that I'm not alone dealing with term papers. I have three 10 page papers due the first week of May. One over Sino-Central Asian Relations , U.S. National Security policy , and the best of all a policy proposal paper for the state of Kansas , Kansas has plenty of room for policy revision

ok so i have my first exam tomorrow European politics, (and yes im still on the boards!) Fortunately this is a seen exam so the 3 questions that i have to do in 3 hours are:

(1) identify the principal problems generated by the 2004 enlargement. Can they be resolved?

(2) Do cultural factors represent the principal impediment to Turkeys membership of the EU

(3) Evaluate the contention that the European Neighbourhood Policy provides 'concrete alternatives to membership ' (Landabaru 2006) Answer in relation to a country you have studied

That title makes me tired to even read!! Congrats on being finished it though. That's always a good feeling! It sounds like lots of people on this thread have papers and stuff due...good luck with it all! When does university usually end in the States?

Are these from an English perspective or a broader perspective? Or do you think they're the same?

I'm far too removed from the EU to have a decent opinion on this. That's why I asked! :D

ha ha good answer....

for a quick answer i believe that while there has been some failures of the enlargement process such as environmental issues, problems generated by its size, a feeling of second class citizenship for some members that are not able to work freely in other EU countries as should be guaranteed by the Single European Act .
However, the 2004 enlargement is one of the greatest successes of European policy. It created massive empolyment and prosperity in countries that desperately needed it, huge aid was made to encourage fdi etc

Ahh, my disseration is due in tomorrow, and it has been the bane of my life for the past few months. I study psychology, so had to come up with an original research proposal, carry out the research, analyse the data, and write the whole thing up.

Mine was titled "Does mortality salience affect how human- or animal-like we perceive our ingroup and outgroup?"

And tonight, I pretty much finished it! I still have to whack a couple of graphs in, but other than, I can breathe a sigh of relief.

Good luck to everyone who has essays and the like to hand in!
