Hey everyone, I thought I would formally introduce myself to the boards. I'm finishing up my junior year at the University of Kansas (go jayhawks!) and am really stoked for this summer because I'll be traveling Europe alone; this is my first real traveling expedition and hopefully not my last. I'm flying into London, going to be here for 6 days, then off to Brussels, afterwards I have to see some family in Rotterdam and Hamburg, but after about a week of family business I'll be back to my travels. I don't have a strict itinerary yet because I kind of want to take things as they come but will be open to any suggestions. I’ll be in Europe from the 24th of May until the 6th of July.

First..
HOOK 'EM HORNS.
Ahem.
Sounds awesome, traveling solo is the best way really. London is hella expensive. Eat from grocery stores. I found brussels kind of dull but my best friend liked it. She spent more time there than I did. Best of luck to you, welcome to travelpunk!
edit: and mad props to you for keeping your options open. Its the only way to go!

hey ali,
I'm also at KU but finishing up my senior year. It looks like I leave Lawrence for Europe about a week after you do... I'd say we should meet up and watch a KU game somewhere in Europe, but I doubt they'd be on... plus even if there was some kind of American bar there is nothing happening in the summer.... I guess we always will have the Royals Anyway, good luck on your travels and Rock Chalk baby

Since we're doing this consistently,
FEAR THE TURTLE.
Bienvenidos a Travelpunk! I've been to Lawrence on business years ago, so I can understand wanting to get the hell out of that town! :D

Lawrence isn't bad at all if you like to drink and have a good time. There is normally a bar with cheap ass beer too. Thursday nights you can get a liter for 1.75 a a couple of places.... so all it takes is like 5 or so bucks and you feel like
plus the women are nothing to complain about either... i don't know why they come here but as ali g says... it's nice!!!

I'd pay to see that, but instead i'll take my chances leave the country and maybe they'll get it done 1 more time, or at least become competitive in my life. Hell, I'd come back from my trip to see them in the world series at the K. Until then i'll stick with our Hawks.

To all TPunks, I just wanted to send a shout out to everyone from London. I just got here this afternoon, its really nice here in Soho but I got lost for about an hour but I did get see some cool stuff while lost... so I look at it as an unintended walking tour. Well, just wanted to say 'what up'. I'll keep yall posted if any crazy stuff happens.
