Hello friends,
My name is Matthew and I really enjoyed browsing this board so I joined. I'm 21 & I'm planning my first "backpacking" trip for probably spring of next year, though not my first trip to Europe. I'm sure over the next few months, I'll be asking plenty of questions as I do my research into everything from what to pack to where to go. I'm a US citizen who now lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada. I think it's great a lot of the folks on this board have struck up a great camraderie and are helpful to noobs like myself. Look forward to talking with some of you!
Ciao!
Matthew

Well...there's a reason I'm happy I live in Canada now and it's one letter.
W
But besides that...my family moved to Saskatoon a year ago August so that my father could accept a position at the Canadian Light Source. He's very smart. He's technically my step-dad so unfortunately, I don't share the same intelligent gene pool That's OK, I get my smarts from my mom!
When I was in high school, I went on an EF tour of France & Spain. We did Paris, Bordeaux, Biarritz, San Sebastian, Madrid, and Toledo. It was a great time, but I didn't get to really "experience" Europe...I just saw some of the sights...and lost my cameras...and our group leader (of all people) got robbed.
But all in all, it hit me with the travel bug that will never leave my system...and will only temporarily be quelled with another trip to Europe...this time for 30-60 days rather than 10!!!
Ciao,
Matthew
