wow! this site is amazing. Tecia directed me here. tecia and i went to college together about 3 or 4 years ago(studying photography). we always talked about backpacking across Europe. she if finally going!(she's leaving friday!) i am so happy for her! this site has given me a renewed sense of ambition to make that dream a reality. i love to travel but have never left the states(except for one trip to canada when i was 6). i have traveled almost everywhere in the US and have been moved around all my life. i was born to travel. it's in my blood (native american indian and some distance relation to the vikings). i feel like i lost all my ambitious for traveling somewhere in the last 3 years of a damaging relationship, serious alcohol abuse and neglect to myself. i feel like i have just woken up again for the first time just a bit ago when i made the desicion to start living my life and stop fucking around.
i guess my biggest thing involving travel that i do is hiking. my brother's, my dad and i pick a peak that is highest in a state and climb it. we do this once a year for the last 8 years. the next one we are going to climb is Clingsman Dome at 6,643 ft. it's the highest mountain in tennessee and in the heart of the Smokey mountains. i love it! i love the mountains. in fact i was born in montana but am now and have been for the last 5 years been a city girl (chicago). i feel like a fish out of water here. i'm looking to escape. maybe you guys can help.
well, i guess that's my intro. toodles.

Welcome aboard!
And once you get there - welcome abroad! Plenty of mountains to climb all over the world - but it's awesome that you've seen so much of the US!
Feel free to share some of your mountain/hiking adventures with us - it's always great to find out what's in our own back yards

hey there, welcome!!
What part of Montana are you from? My dad's in Missoula and I used to live in that area many moons ago. Such an interesting state, although I must say I do prefer Seattle now. haha B)
So have you done our Mt. Rainier yet?? Welcome again!!

i was born in great falls. i only lived there until i was 7 and then we moved to california. we haven't done mt rainier yet, but i'd like to. that one is a high one at 14,410ft. i was actually looking into schools around portland oregon. i am looking into moving there in the next year or two. so maybe i'll get to do rainier after all. seattle's about an hour north, right? thanx for the post SV.

Seattle's actually about 3-ish hours north of Portland, depending on how many chances you want to take with the state troopers. I wish it was only an hour away though. This area has a lot to offer!! hope you end up here! and yeah, climbing Mt. Rainier is a little... involved, I've heard (ha.) I don't know what the deal is but people keep dying up there lately.

Hey! Don't pick on the Roz... its my job to threaten him with bodily harm and such. It makes me feel like I have a younger brother I can beat up on, even if he is thousands of miles away over an ocean and like 6 hours before me. Who cares.. I can still get on a plane, go there and beat his ass, and come home. It would worth spending $800 on.
Wait... what are we doing... oh yes welcome Te's friend Beth. Welcome to the family... we are loving, and caring, and such. No violence.... at all. Oh by the way Te, now that I am thinking of you... I have that pic that I took that you wanted to see, yeah... so I can send it sometime. And then I can show everyone on TP.

wow! go to work for one day and a whole lot happens.
Tecia! you finally found me. looks like you found a whole lot of really good people here. they all see the beautiful vibrance that you have. that is really awesome how much everyone seems to appreciate everyone else.
canadian dude. wow, you're name is robert smith. i thought those lyrics were weird. i didn't recognize them from any albums, but the cure did have a whole lot of b-sides. you must get that alot.
rozza? what does 'GMT" mean?
Space virgin. yeah i almost forgot. i've been reading about those climbers that got stuck on mt. rainier and one died. kind of scarey. it's better to climb mountains like that in september or october when the snow has melted. and i am totally looking forward to moving to portland oregon.
