Hello :)
Eh, my name is Skylar.
I am from Canada, and am in my second year of University. This May I am hoping to travel through Australia, for a month or two depending on how much money I have saved. I have done some travelling already in my life, but nothing "backpackin'" style. Any imput will be awesome!

Hey Skylar, welcome to TPunk!!! I'm travelling/living in Australia right now. Where are you planning to be in Aus? let me know if you have any questions. You'll love it here!! it's paradise I tell ya!! and expensive! but just remember to keep to a strict budget and you'll be fine.

I am thinking about travelling through southern Australia, with the nice beaches and great weather... Were abouts have you been? Any recommendations would be great, as I am open to suggestions? As well for living arrangements, have you done any "couchsurfing", or are you staying in hostels?

Hey, yeah I've couchsurfed! it was good times. a bunch of friends of mine here offer couchsurfing too  . hostels aren't too pricey. expect to pay an average of $25- $30 per night. I'm in Queensland on the sunshine coast. I love it here. it's soooo beautiful!!! you're going to southern oz in the beginning of their winter. So the tempreture won't be as warm as abit northern. All of Australia has awesome beaches so no matter where you go it'll be sweet.
