Default New here, hai all :)

Hellooo, I'm Annemarie, a 17 year old Dutch girl, (NO not living close to Amsterdam, but it's still very nice) and I'm going to interrail/backpack this summer though europe, for three weeks... Really short time, I know, but, I had exams, already promised my parents I'd join them when they're going to Portugal, soyeah. Going to travel with an 18 year old friend and I'm really looking forward to some advice about mainly everything, must sees, cheap places to stay etcetc.

Our plan iss: Paris, Montreux Jazz festival (swiss), Lyon, Milan, Rome, Pompei, Napels, Venice, Ljubljana, Zagreb, through Austria and then straight home, or if we have time, Germany/Belgium :D

But nothing is certain and we're open for everything (in a non perv way, hah)

If you get a chance while in Slovenia, check out Lake Bled. Gorgeous, scenic place, with nice hiking around.

Welcome to the Boards!

Your lucky in that being European and already on the continent most the hard work is done for you and you can just head off whenever you like. Tis great being European! :D

I'd recommend going as far east as you can if you haven't been out that way already. It's just that little bit different from what we're used to in the west of Europe and feels like a more substantial and fulfilling place to visit. We've all seen the west of Europe so often through learning about it at school and seeing it on TV that it can feel very, very familiar.

Welcome! Good luck planning your trip, unfortunately, I haven't been to any of the places you mentioned. I'm sure someone else can help out though as you plan out your itinerary!

Hey I'm going solo around Germany with some stops in Switzerland and Austria from July 1 to July 15. I obviously won't know about the sights until I get back, though. Anyway, good luck with your trip!
