Unhappy Farewell Betty

Well, today I said goodbye to my girl Betty. She was beautiful. She was a feisty one, perhaps not as aggressive as I would have liked, but certianly better than most things I see other bloke's getting around with. She was by far the best I have ever had.

She was deceptively quiet. Most girls that really pack a punch are loud boisterous things, but not Betty. She sounded and appeared quite well behaved, timid even. But when you wound her up, boy could she dance.

We were together for almost two years. I was her first. It's the first time I've ever been a girl's first.

Because of Betty, I can attest to the saying "a root's beaut in the back of a ute".

I was the one that decided we should part ways. The reason - travel. I plan on moving to America for a year or two in a few months. You see, Betty was an expensive girl, she had expensive taste and required quite a lot of money to keep her happy (but what decent girl doesn't these days?). In her defence, I knew of her expensive ways before the relationship started, and it never really bothered me, I was just happy to be with her. But now that I'm trying to save, I just can't afford to have her around. Does this make me a bad person? Probably.

Also, you just never know what's going on with a girl back home when you're out travelling. I just don't know if I could trust her for such a long period of time, especially with my dad, he's been eyeing her off ever since I started seeing her.

So, even though it's for the greater good (travel), I'm going to miss you Betty. We had some great times.

Betty - 2005 Ford Falcon BF XR6 ute. 5 speed manual, 4.0 litre 6 cylinder injected motor, 190kW of power, 383Nm of torque, perpetually sideways:

Sorry to here about that man. She looks like she would have been a great ride, even if she was a bit young. I can see you've taken good care of her.

I've been afraid to be commit to a relationship for the same reason.

Hah, that's one of the best sayings I've heard for a while. And if not the best, then at least it's the most Aussie saying I've heard.

Whoa when i was in australia a few years ago my friend and I named our car Betty as well! Sadly she died 90 km's outside of Alice Springs. Way to leave her owners stranded in the middle of fuck all nowhere....

You ozzie boys and your utes! Go to America and get a real truck! grrrr..:D
