Disney World is better. Actually I've never been to Disney land, but World has all of those other parks and if you get bored, Orlando has lots to do!

Welcome.
So what does your family consist of? A wife? siblings? Children under 10 or over 15? You don't need to be too specific, but a general idea of your family makeup could help in people's advice.

My only memory of Disneyworld was being outraged that Epcot Center was so educational/boring (I was probably like...7 or something). What a little bastard I was, no appreciation at all.
Actually I remember meeting goofy at one of those breakfast with the disney character things too.

I live 60 miles away from Disney World and we went there about 20-30 times as kids (every 3 day weekend) so if you end up going that route let me know (and Maracle's point is especially good for kids under 10).

Wow! This got turned into the Disneyworld thread! I LOVE it. Even as an adult. I went maybe twice as a tot, once as a band trip (I know...) and then again on spring break with my worthless ex. Aside from having gift shops as ride exit points (I mean, criminy, you save how much just so you can take your family there, and you have to do the uncomfortable rejection game with your kids at the end of EVERY ride?!?) and the ridiculousity of prices, it's a winner. Besides, now that I am accustomed to backpacking, I'm a pro at food hoarding and grocery store meals in hotels and make your own souvenirs.
