So I talked to the powers that be at my workplace (I'm a service clerk aka bagger at a grocery store if you didn't know) and they said I could start training to be a cashier the week after next! I'm going to be picking up cashier shifts and still bagging shifts so I can get more hours Thought I'd share the good news with Tpunkers!

Congrats Lizz!!! That's awesome. I used to work at Wal Mart when I was in HS and filled in for cashiers. I loved it. I don't know why, but I thought it was fun!

CONGRATS!!
Yay for new hours! That's basically what a guy at work does. He greets, but when we have too many greeters, he's scheduled to bus, so he still gets his hours, but we don't have too many cooks in the kitchen.

hmmm...that's weird. Where I live you can start off as a cashier right off the bat, but of course you still get the base pay then you just end up getting paid more and more the more hours you work, no matter what you do....
CONGRATS THOUGH!!! IT'S AWESOME THAT YOU WERE PROMOTED!!!

Congrats!
I've been there, but I swore I'd never go back to retail!

I didn't even know cashier unions existed
