aaaahhhhh (UK - Mainland europe, british citizens)
Two people, one has passport, one has driving license, both are British. A ferry is booked for the 1st Dec, I originally read that it would be possible for my friend to go with her driving license, I have recently found out that it might not be possible. Does anyone know whether she would get through or not? with just her driving license. If not does anyone know whether going to France or Belgium would be ok, what with her just having a driving license.
If none is possible then it appears her birthday, christmas treat and her break from life was a waste of money (I have paid quite a lot, for what appeared to be quite a problematic trip) and therefore I need help. We have CS's already sorted out for Holland and Belgium.
If anyone has any information, please call me on +447935032393.
Thank you so much for your time,
Ryan.

Sorry, wish I could help out, but I'm not entirely sure how it works now with the European Union. Good luck.

Hate to be the one to break it to you, but you will need a valid passport. She will need to have to have either a passport or a National Identity Card from an EU country (drivers license doesn't count).

Just to add to that:

Entry requirements for UK nationals: British nationals must have a passport. A visa is not required for endorsed British Citizen passport holders. Visa exemption is for three months for passports endorsed British National (Overseas), British Overseas Territories Citizen and British Subject with the right of abode in UK.

That is a rough situation not sure if this helps or not but the Frankfurt train station has a red cross shelter. I stayed the night there once.
