Default Budapest to Istanbul???

Can anyone think of a relatively cheap way to get to Istanbul from Budapest??? This is kind of ridiculous but a band I like is playing there... on the 4th of May!!!!!
I saw them in Vienna and was going to follow them to Ljubljana but I didnt and now I regret it sooooo much
I am actually booked into a hostel here for a few more nights too... so leaving Budapest on the 3rd.
Ok it probably isnt possible but any suggestions would be great....arghhhhh I hate regretting stuff!!! why was i so stupid? i went to bratislava instead and I feel bad saying it but it was kind of boring and thus a bad decision.
I am so bummed right now. Id been talking about Ljubljana for so long too.... why cant we travel back in time and change our decisions?!?!!
There are plane tickets for about 300 euros which is A LOT of money just to see this band. And I cant figure out what would be the best bus/train combinations/routes to take.
Originially I was going to loop down from czech republic to Slovenia and back through a few places to finish in poland. Now I am thinking of just going on through romania to trukey. but that means I dont get to see poland. SO if I go to turkey now I can work my way up again...
Um... yeah... having no plans... its great, really....

Or alternatively help me decide whether this would be a good or bad thing to do? Now I think maybe I shouldnt. But I am trying to live by the philosophy that we always regret the things we dont do rather than the things we do. And it is so true damn it!!! And it isnt such a waste of money if it is something i want to do. Unlike going to bratislava... that was silly.. i had no particular interest in the country but I went there anyway.
So yeah, cheers
And I promise to post sometime the story of how I actually met the band the in Vienna... it was awesome.....
ARGHHHH WHY DIDNT I GO TO LJUBLJANA??? HOW OFTEN DOES SOMEONE ACTUALLY GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE A GROUPIE???

(im ever so slightly confused and excitable right now. as usual...)

There are a number of low cost airlines operating in Europe...I'll see if I can scare up any cheap fares. I can't believe I spaced on the fact you were in Budapest. I overnighted there on the way back from Albania a couple weeks ago -- we could have met up!

Actually I only got to Budapest on Saturday
Thanks for the thought but I changed my mind, I have reconciled myself to going to Romania and Poland and missing the band who are actually playing tonight but oh well
I will go to Turkey later in the year hopefully!

You are SOOO going to love Romania. Just remember in that country to really slow down, and get out of the big cities and into the countryside. Such a different experience. Have a blast girl... SOOO excited for you.
