Koh Samui - accomodation

Right on the 9 o'clock flight out of Bangkok tomorrow so won't be in Samui until 10 pm! Anyone know of any decent places we can stay for a couple of nights until we get ourselves sorted?? Had a look on the accomodation section but only mentions one bad place (although that don't sound too bad to me !

Got a mate who lives there but he must have lost his Thai mobile as the number is now not working and it's a pain in the arse trying to track him down!! Is it worthwhile just getting the Travel places in Bangkok to book us one night somewhere and then do our own looking Wednesday?? What are the best bits to stay in Samui where i might have a chance of bumping into my dopey English mate??

Chaweng and Lamai beaches are the two biggest tourist areas of Samui. Given your tight timeframe and late night arrival, I would sort something with a travel agent. They have booths right in the airport and you should be able to find something cheap, especially as now is still low season in the islands.

Good man!!! We've got an hour or so to spare before the flight anyway so we'll sort it out then!!!

Cheers for that but i'm not holding out much hope, i guess it will come down to getting lucky or hopefully a mate from home will be able to get hold of a new number for me!!!

Can i also add that Koh Samet is probably the most gorgeous place i have ever visited in my life and comes highly recommended to anyone travelling to Thailand!!! Get yourselves there and onto the Malibu beach and chat to Robert and Robbie, two Dutch fella's in the Baywatch bar and they will sort you out with most things you need, accomodation etc.
