Help!!!

I'm arriving in Ko Pha Ngan on the 5th sept for the full moon party on the 7th, and am having trouble booking accomodation. Every place i call says i have to book 4 days before the fmp or at least pay for four night beforehand. I am intending to stay for about 5 nights anyway so don't really wanna pay for an extra 4 nights! My budget is about 500 baht (well, hopefully much lower but i appreciate it's hard to find accomm at this time of year). Does anyone know of anywhere?

Sorry for the rambling, but i'm leaving Chaing Mai today for Ko PhaNgan and i've got two overnights on a bus so i don't wanna risk accom till i get there. Also, i know this is lame, but i'm a solo female traveller and don't wanna get ripped off or get put somewhere that's really unsafe!

Please help,

Jess xx

Hey, they all say that, but its not true. i booked accomedation at the train station about 4 nites before hand as well thinking the same, but it was expensive and very average, a long way away from haadrin ( where the action is) i ended up just picking somewhere else in town and copped paying both accomedation. i was solo too and i can tell u that u def wanna be in haadrin, as it is the off season so u may find your self in a emtpy place ( like i did) which isnt much fun for meeting others...

i stayed in a nice guesthouse, on the main street there, about a block or 2 from chickcorner. cant remember the name, but u will walk past it. theres a small bar downstairs and a sign out the front saying "fukin good buckets'
its a safe place, will cost around 1000bt a nite tho. thats a private room with 2 beds and aircon. a bloke i met rocked up 2 nites before hand and found a place easy, his was abit further out ( like 5-8min walk) without aircon for around the 400-500 bart mark.

if u still insist on booking! which i dont think u should, just make sure u are in haadrin for sure. and dont pay anymore than 500bart for nonair con.

have fun!

p.s i was there in may, which should be about the same crouds as u, maybe less? so u shouldnt have a prob.
