Was wondering, for the ferry from Bari to Patras, do I have to reserve, or do I just show up? And is it hard to find?? Because I have my eurail pass and should get a 50% discount.

i hopped a ferry from italy to greece, a little south of bari though, no reservation, however i wasn't able to get a discount with the rail pass, the boats are pretty freaking big, and there are a lot of them, so i wouldn't break my back trying to get a reservation, but then again, i've been doing a lot of things half-assed :P
i think the best way to get the eurail discount is to show up at a port and find a travel agency that advertises to students and eurailpass holders, unfortunately i was waaaaay too drunk that day to do so, and just bought a ticket at a counter in the port.

I have a 2 month eurailpass and i believe the ferry is free if your pass is valid in greece and italy, although you have to pay like a 10 euro fee in high season. Maybe this only applies to ferries to Brindisi?
