Is there any hostel in London that sticks out as really good to anyone? I read reviews from some of them, but there seem to be so many conflicting reports. I pretty much trust the opinion of anyone that would reply on this site. I'd like to start out my new hosteling lifestyle on a good note.

I imagine that there are many good hostels...
I'm booked into the "International Students House" - the ISH for two nights. I have a brochure, and it looks like a pretty damn nice place. Its fairly centralises, apparently is walking distance to a bunch of neat things, and just looks like an all around nice place. I'll keep you posted about how it REALLY is, but for now...

I think that reports on hostels really depend on when you are there.. it's a very personal thing... I've stayed at some of the cleanest quietest YHA hostels and hated them simply cause they are sooo boring and generally full of weird old people... whereas I've been in the Generator in london and had the time of my life.. perhaps not the quietest in the world... but a great nights sleep after spending time with friends made.
