I will be done my Contikik tour on October 2nd, then will be backpacking for 25 days. Do you think I should book my hostels this far in advance. I don't really even know my itinerary yet, not exact dates anyway. Though I will be ending my tour in France and will be staying there for about 3 days. Any advice would be great. Do you think it ends up being cheaper if you book ahead of time? Or is it just if you're lucky it will be cheaper??? Thanks if anyone can help me out.

Wow, Holly, you sure have huge... pictures.

Anyway, since October's during the low season, you shouldn't have to worry about hostels being booked up... Although if your itinerary becomes any clearer before you leave for the Contiki part of the trip, I'd recommend booking a hostel for one night in each of the major cities you plan on hitting, just as insurance. This especially applies in Amsterdam, which seems not to have all that many hostels for such a popular destination.
