Okay, I don't do that seven hour time difference/jet lag well at all. So, when Jake and I get to Ireland to start off our jaunt across Europe, we're planning on just booking a hotel for two nights so we can have our own shower, sleep when we want and have privacy while we adjust. We fly into Dublin, but I want to stay in Co. Louth (any city) as it appears a little cheaper, I don't care to spend much time in big/touristy cities and there's something there I want to look for. I love European hotels - the cozy ones run by a family with what looks more like an oversized house rather than sterile impersonal like Hiltons etc. I found a few for what would work out to about 70 US a night for two people en suite breakfast incl. Anyone have any suggestions for something cheaper or is this about average?

70 isn't bad for Dublin, it is the most expensive city in Ireland, anywhere else in the country would be cheeper. Personaly I don't really like Dublin, I'm not sure why. It is a bit of a tourist trap.
You could try B&Bs you won't have the same level of privicy but they should be comfortable and there are loads of them in Ireland. |
Duh, why did I write hotels in Dublin. I mean hotels outside of Dublin. As I said in my post I want to stay in Co. Louth (any city). Anyone?? Jump in :)

There's Dundalk and Drogheda their on train lines too, I don't know the place though. Never been there.

So you don't have the hookup on any good inexpensive places?
I didn't find some, I was just wonderign if it was a good price or not. Thanks. :) |

I'd go for Una, just because she has a nicer website. She put a bit of effort in.

Yes B&B is a nice option in Ireland to stay as they are good in comfort and also cheap. you will have your sound sleep there and will also enjoy the food.
They can be easily found even in countryside and accept coupons and vouchers too. |

There are a amount of abatement hotels in Dublin, Ireland, that still accommodate acceptable account and apartment for the cost. Consider The Belvedere Hotel, in a area in the arctic allotment of the city-limits that allows you to accept a little added accord and quiet but is still abutting by to abounding of the above attractions.

Jacobs Inn - Hostel / Backpacker Lynam's Hotel Bridge House Dublin I have personally been to these hotels. They have good accommodations and hospitality services that allow you to have a home like stay. |
