So I have every intention of visiting Ireland around November. Problem is, I've never done the hostel thing. Nor would I know how to pick a good one. I've been reading through the site, but can anyone reccomend any hostels in Ireland?

zankoo oodles!

In Dublin, I'd highly recommend Barnacles' Temple Bar Hostel. Great location, damn nice rooms (all with their own bathroom!), good kitchen, excellent TV room/lounge/fireplace area, and great staff... Only problem is it's the most expensive hostel I'd ever seen (the area's expensive to begin with) but it's still cheaper than a hotel, way more fun, and very centrally located.

I've never done the hostel thing ether (yet) but I know where they are in Galway, so I could go up and have a look if your going there. I could make a day of it as practice for my own trip, I could get really drunk to see what I can and can't get away with in these hostely things.

I usually stay in B&Bs, so a hostel has to do quite a bit to impress me. However, if you're in the North, Sheep Island View in Ballintoy was a great stay (and yes, there's a great view). I believe I was there during November also.
