I have 3 choices for Paris, France.
1. Le Village
2. Le Montclair Montmarte
3. Square Caulaincourt

They are all the same price $31.68 a night. I am thinking #3 looks the best. Has anyone stayed at any of these hotels and are they any hostels you would recommend more?

Nice, France
1. Hotel Meyerbeer Beach
2. Villa Saint Exupery

Only $2 difference in price. Anyone stayed at either of these?

Rome, Italy
1. Yellow Hostel
2. Hotel Guys Paradise
3. Hostel Alessandro Palace

They are all the same price as well.

More about what I am lookinf for, I don't want a party hostel.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also for Venice, Florence, and Positano.

Im doing the same trip that you are doing. The only Hostel that I have picked so far 100% is yellow hostel, the website looks awsome and everyone has only awsome things to say about it.

I've heard nothing but good things about Caulaincourt - and with free internet and wi-fi, you can keep us updated on your travels from there! ;) The site advertises 24-hour information desk, so I'm assuming they don't have a curfew/lockout - a huge deal @ Paris hostels. Score!!

Square Caulaincourt looks awsome from the website. I think I am going to be staying there. Looks like the best choice in the area.

I stayed in the Yellow hostel in Rome and came out a little disappointed. The hostel itself was cool, comfortable, affordable, and easy to use the facilities, but the people that stayed there weren't much fun. Maybe its cuz it was summer and hot and after a day of sightseeing everyone wanted to just veg out, I don't know. And certainly don't make yer decision based on this review. I had just also heard nothing but good things but have found much cooler people in a lot of different hostels.

Either way, have fun and ALWAYS stamp your metro ticket

I've stayed at Square Caulaincourt. It's also a hotel, we had a hotel room with a nice view. :) It's in a great location, just on the back side of Montmartre and only about a hundred yards from the Lamarck-Caulaincourt metro stop. There are at least 3 good patisseries right around there and a decent brasserie right next door. It's a short walk to the butte de Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur, and it's really easy to explore some of the lesser-known, less touristy side streets in the area-- and you definitely should, they're worth wandering around! While I was there the internet wasn't free but that was two years ago, I've heard they've made some changes (all for the better.)

I reccommend 'The Beehive' (the-beehive.com) in Rome - it's nice really clean and in a great location.
'Hotel Eden' in Venice is really nice and they give you a good breakfast - more expensive than a hostel but worth it to splurge.
'My Salerno Apartment' (mysalernoapartment.com) with kitchen access, on the amalfi coast is good to - Salerno is cheap, central, and close to most of the Amalfi area touist hubs.
good luck!
