I have found many hostel search engines...any recommendations for a decent hostel search engine--one with legit reviews and current information?

If you go to the main page travelpunk.com there is a hostel search engine you can use.
I use it too book all my hostels & it works great!
If you go into the hostel details I believe there should be reviews by people who have stayed there. You can also ask around here. I'm sure the chances are pretty good of finding someone who has stayed at a hostel you're looking at

Yup, as bias as it may seem, I have used the Travelpunk search engine, which is backed by Hostelworld.com and I was quite happy with the service.
When I was in Belfast I was suppose to have a private room that I ordered, and to no fault of the search engine,, the hostel over booked, and I was put in a dorm, I emailed Hostelworld anda full refund with an nicley worded email was sent my way.
