Hey there everyone... I'm working on opening up a hostel, but there really isn't much info on the internet for that sort of business... anyone have any tips on where to start? I've already got GREAT ideas for closer to opening time... but for now I need the nitgritty facts... like getting a loan... buying the building... zoning codes...etc etc... if you don't have any ideas on that... then other general ideas would be great too... hope to hear from you all soon

wow, what a great idea!

Almost everything you're asking about is going to depend on where you decide to locate your hostel. Zoning laws / et al are different all over the place, sometimes they can change neighborhood by neighborhood within a particular city (no shit.) So the best thing to do would be scope out a few places that you would like to do this and then look into the info for each place, including getting a pre-approval for a loan. Good luck and keep us updated how it's going! We'd love to hear about it!

Great idea! Where at?

I know a guy trying to start his own shop too. He was clueless and has a legal book on it. It's literally about 2" thick.

I'm sure there's like a "Small Biz for Dummies" user-friendly version tho?
