I'm trying to find a hostel in Paris and would love your input on neighborhoods and hostels. I'm traveling alone at the very beginning of June on a tight budget so I'm finding choices limited.

These are the ones i'm considering:

Aloha Hostel
Boissiere Hotel
Hotel Andre Gill
Le Montclair Montmartre
3 Ducks
Absolute Paris

Hello USCFemme!

First let me say that I've only stayed at the Aloha. It's pretty basic and affordable. The showers have that push button system like we have for some faucets at public locations in the US, it can be a bit of a pain in the @#$#, but it's doable. It's off of Volontaires metro, and accessible to all other locations in Paris by metro or foot. Nothing to write home about, but didn't have any bad experiences either. The staff is pretty friendly and knowledgeable.

Andre and Montclair are in Montmartre, which is a pretty happening place.

I've heard from 'adequate' to 'horror stories' about the 3 Ducks...

trust me on this one, stay at the Peace and Love Hostel, take the Juares metro stop and its across the street. You wont regret going there, its a non stop party. its also really close to gare du nord. If there is still a guy that works there by the name of lee, party with him, we arrived at the sametime this past december and he ended up getting a job there. dont stay at aloha hostel, been there done that, there is no atmosphere and there is a lockout period. i dont know why this site reccommends it, its terrible. but really if you want to have fun stay at the Peace and Love.

I am arriving in Paris on Sunday, May 30t, staying for two weeks, and I still have no where to stay, my study abroad trip got cancelled and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on where to stay in Paris, or if anyone would like to meet up. I am looking for something cheap for students. Travelling alone and my french isn't great, so I would like to stay somewhere cool where I can meet people and have a good time. Thanks....................... Diana

Hey Diana,

I get there Tuesday; my French is poor too, maybe we can help each other. I'm staying 2 nights at MIJE Maubuisson and 2 nights at BVJ Louvre and I still need a place for June 3. Let me know where you're staying. Whats your email?
