Hey all!!

I'm going to Spain, France, and Italy and am wondering if anyone's ever stayed at a convent or residence hall in any of these countries? Would these two options be cheap alternatives to staying at hostels/hotels? Are there any websites and/or recommendations you can make for Avignon and Barcelona (as far as these alternatives are concerned)?
