This prolly wouldn't be urgent but I am going to Africa on Thursday and need to plan a trip to Paris beforehand...
Searching the hostels, you can only make reservations for one person in a single, private. If I am traveling alone, is there no way of taking advantage of cheap multi-person room rates?
I need to make reservations for something soon, but cannot afford the cost of the private rooms.
Thank you kindly.

hello!
That's strange that you can't make a reservation online for a dorm room. I did that plenty of times. Hmm are u only trying to do this for one site? Have u tried other hostels? I just went to the tp.com reservation system for paris and I was allowed to book a dorm so try that! have a great trip!

The Travelpunk link that Dio just put up works well, its through Hostelworld.com, I used it in Europe this past Sept and had no probs with the service. If you do have probs with your reservations you can deal with it when you get home through Hostelworld.com, they are eager to make sure that your experience with the service went well. And by using that link it supports this site as well.

Yes, you can book a bed world wide in a "dorm room" (room with multiple beds), by using the above link.
Worst case scenario, it's off season in Paris right now, so there should not be a problem finding an available dorm bed.
