WELCOME TO THE BOARDS, metalsign!

Why not spend a night at both since they both have great reviews? Is that an option for you?

I was at the Generator just two weeks ago.
There had been some negative reviews about that place on several reviews I've read. But here is my brief assesment...

The staff were friendly and smiley. Food was decent. Free breakfast is ample. Bed & room clean but spartan. It gets noisy but not outrageous when compared to many other hostels.
The shower does have hot water (but not drinkable). The best thing about the Generator is the party atmosphere, if that's your sort of thing. It's a great place to meet people from all over the world.
