I was just wondering if anyone has stayed at Gram's Place in Tampa, Fl?

I've mostly read good things about it, and it looks pretty cool. My only concern is that from the pictures I've seen, the dorm rooms (which are set out to be reminiscent of a sleeper carriage on a train) look really quite small. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Also, is it close to anything of interest? I looked at the bus routes for Tampa, and think I can figure out how to get to Busch Gardens (SO wanna go there!), but is there anything else nearby and easily reachable?

Thanks!

Some years ago, a friend and I spent a week or so in and around Tampa, visiting my uncle (who's just about 10 yrs older than me and had a handsome roommate with a 1950's convertible, so we had a great time zipping around in that...) Mostly I recall that we couldn't walk anywhere, because there were no sidewalks, even in the residential areas, and it was steaming hot... They took us to St. Petersburg, where we took one of those cheesy dolphin watching boat tours with a Beach Boys soundtrack blaring in the background, it was great fun.

I think there's a walking path along the waterfront where all the fancy houses are, but don't really remember - we were having too much fun singing in the Corvette at the time.

That sounds like so much fun! Right, that's it, I just have to find someone with a Corvette!

Yeah, it was rather...

But aren't you going with your boyfriend? That might be a bit of an impediment...
