Im headed on a 35 day trip throughout Europe. Im planning on taking my medications such as valium and lorcet. Do I need to worry about any customs bullshit? As long as I have a prescription will I be allright to travel with these meds?? Is this something I need to be stressing out about?? If I dont have a prescription would it be hard to get through customs with a week or so worth of meds?? How strict is europe with american medication policies??

Hi blueindian and welcome to travelpunk.com !

With a copy of your prescriptions with you, you'll have no problem. If you need it, you need it, the end. Keep the prescriptions with your "safe", passport, ticket.

I travelled with med also. Nobody ever asked anything, but I did have the prescription in case.

One of my friends left on a trip to Africa planning to be there for four months and he takes lots of hardcore perscription meds. He took a four month supply of each med and if he had even the slightest problem about it he would have complained non-stop for a month when he got back.

Just take them all before you go, thats what I do.

Or you can bing the perscription like they already said, either way works fine.. but you'll probably have less problems by bringing the perscription and not ODing

If you have your perscriptions you should be fine. If you want an "official" word on it, check with the customs office (you should be able to find a phone number on the internet), or mabey your embassy. As a side note, keep your perscriptions at easy access, you may be asked for them at airports, security checkpoints, ect.
