Ok Kids,
Here's how this is going to go down. An end date has been set where at that time we can post our before and after photos and new BMI's along with current lifting weights and other new abilities, like maybe you can run 5 miles now instead of 3...

Let The Games Begin!

Girls- I have a hint. Hang a bikini where you will see it all of the time. That has motivated me!
Even if you won't be wearing it soon, you still want to look good in it, right?

Hmmm.. I like the idea of a "start date." It's the psychology of it - like well, everyone else is starting, I have to too. Anyone wanna do a start date? Maybe on Mondayso it's a fresh start after the weekend? Am I just stupid?

Well as a male, I think seeing a bikini on the ground next to my bed is really good inspiration, because that is where a better body will make it end up, right?

Yes NASH was the forthought of this new challange.

What if everyone posted there way of dieting/working out or any other way of lossing weight. that way other people can see what people are doing. Stuff like swwiming every other day or not drinking soft drinks. It would be some way as well to keep the thread alive so it doesnt fade before Febueray 1, since most threads tend to fade away after a very short amount of time.

Good now I don't have to feel bad. I just found the absolute best pizza restaurant in the world and we still half of a small left.

I'm in. I tried participating in one of these types of things on another forum a few months ago. Everyone kinda lost enthusiasm after a week or so and I was the last one standing so to speak and then the box fan fell on my big toe (brusied it very badly) and the whole thing ended. But I'm better now and ready to try again!

Yeah, it would probably help to post stuff like goals, your reasons for wanting to change, your plan, progress reports... etc!

I've always found I have better results when I have a plan, and I periodically review the reasons why I'm doing this, etc...

What say you?

On the 21st (hopefully), I'll be on the plane home. when I return, however, I plan on going to the gym for weights 3 days a week, and running/cardio of some sort every day (cept 1 day off a week) If I can find one, I wanna go back into a yoga class - I have an old back injury that I've lived with for years, the only time I've ever not had pain in it was after doing yoga for a month or so...

My goal is to reduce my body fat percentage (I can get you guys a couple of easy ways to measure that, if you want it) from the current 22% down to 15% or less.

I'm also looking to get rid of those pesky love handles (they're the hardest thing for me to shake)

I don't intend to do a 'diet' thing, simply because I find that when I diet it's counterproductive (I feel 'blah' and don't perform as well during exercise). I will, however, reduce my fast-food and eating out to a minimum (hopefully once a week - on my off day) That's gonna save me money and help ke ep the weight down..

My plan is similar. I have not changed my diet much except to stop eating after dinner. I also stopped drinking soda two weeks ago.

I have started doing cardio everyday and stretching with upper body bowflex routine every other day. My weight goal is 240. Completely doable I think....

Sorry Jake, didn't know you were a displaced Chicagoan too - ah, now living in sunny AZ - so jealous (yes, it's freezing and ready to snow :P)). Anyhow, the place was called Pete's on Montrose.

Alright, I want to lose weight cuz I need to. I plan on cutting back some calories, maybe doing LA Weightloss. I gave up regular soda a long time ago and barely drink anything other than water and skim milk. Oh yeah, beer. Want to stop drinking during the week. I would love to RUN. I have NEVER been able to - even when I was a healthy 125 pounds and didn't smoke my longest run was 1/2 mile. How pathetic.

I intend to wait to post em till February... if there's no 'after' shot to compare it with, I certainly don't want my 'before' showing up and sitting around for weeks...
