A lot of people say that you lose weight with all the walking your gonna be doing abroad and stuff but im gonna be working over their for a couple of months before i hit the rest of europe and the british food (however tasty) is most definitely not the most health concious. Hahah ah well how often do you get to eat bangers and mash eh

I lost 10 pounds in the first 2 weeks I was in Spain and I think itīs because they eat dinner so late here. At home I eat dinner at like 6pm and then Iīm hungry by 8 and snack all night long until I go to bed. But here we eat dinner at 9pm so Iīm full then (of healthy food!) and donīt spend the night eating junk. Also, the fact that Iīm living in someone elses house and their cupboards arenīt full of cookies and chocolate helps And thereīs no poutine here...my weakness and hangover cure.
The best way to lose stomach fat is by doing cardiovascular activities such as biking, swimming, and running. I heard that biking is one of the few activities you can do that works out your whole body, but I donīt see how it works out your arms.

Travelchick, I have the same sort of plan, drop a few pounds in time for my trip, so not only do I feel fitter, but also look nicer in a bikini

The way I'm doing it is keeping the fat content of what I eat low. Aim to eat foods that are less than 5% fat (ignore whether it is saturated/unsaturated, just the overall fat content). This is good because it doesn't mean you have to cut out chicken or turkey, or most meats actually, providing you cut excess fat off.

Do little things, like avoid using loads of cooking oil, only snack when you're hungry (NOT WHEN YOU'RE BORED! That was my biggest thing).

I'm also setting a calorie limit, which I try to stick to, but don't sweat it too much, I don't always stick to it, and I'm still losing weight. I aim for 200 cals at breakfast, 300 cals at lunch, 600 cals at dinner, and then 100 cals for a snack (try and find some low fat cereal bars or something - you can even get some that are chocolate coated and within the guidelines, so these are good if you have a chocolate craving). Other than that, if you're still getting hungry, eat some fruit. Mix up a fruit salad and keep it in the fridge, so you can pick at it if you get peckish.

And drink lots of water! It fills you up, so will make you less hungry!

I've lost 9 pounds in 4 weeks, so it is working!

That adds up to 1200 calories a day !!

that is nearly half of what WHO recomends as the MINIMUM of 2240 calories per day

Holding and stabilizing the handlebar. Whle there isn't much contract/relax action of the arm muscles, they're tensed up and working for an extended period of time as they stabilize you and the bike.

Well, the recommendations for women are 2000 a day, 2500 for men, according to everything I've ever read here (UK). And the main bulk of the food does add up to 1200, you're right, but then if you're to have 2 pieces of fruit a day, say a banana and an apple, that's another 150 added on. The fact is, if you want to lose weight, you have to have a lower calorie intake. Or exercise WAY more than most people have the time for.
