First time Backpacking going to Europe, Summer 2007 - TravelPUNK Backpacker College Student Budget Travel Message Boards!

Hey everyone, good to meet you all.

I am a 19 year old college student from the USA and Im planning on taking a backpacking trip for about 2 months to Europe this summer.

I can't wait and Im looking forward to all the traveling adventures and all the people Im going to meet.

My first question to all you guys is: What's the one most important piece of advice you could give to a new backpacker going out for their first time?

i agree. The best advice is to read as much on the boards as possible. That helped me out more than anything. The boards literaly cover everything.

and when you ask questions, try to be as specific as possible, thats probably the best advice i can give you.

Hey! THe boards helped me a lot on my trip to Spain/MOrocco last summer. I guess the guidebooks would be the next best thing after tpunk.

I haven't been lurking this board in a while but I must say, whatever happens make sure you go, even if friends or people coming drop, i got home late august from a month trip and im already saving to go again.

My Advice: SAVE MONEY NOW and don't skimp while your abroad. You can cut down on fast food once a week and save hundreds for this summer. Then spend it on 50 cent beers in Prague!
