Im from the UK and hope to go travelling to the US next summer, and need some advice on where to go, sights to see, places to party ect, in the north-east.

At the moment my plan is to travel from Boston to Washington DC via New York. i wouldnt rule out going as far out as Detroit, or into Canada, as i have family in Toronto. Im sorted as to hostels, train, bus and flights info, just wondering what are the 'must do's' when in that part of the world?

Was also thinking about working over there for abit. are bar/restaurants likely to take on a foreigner for a couple of weeks work?

thanks in advance, SSGB

Well, i dont know how long your staying, but if you make you way to Toronto and after you soak in what this city has to ofer, there are cheap ass flights from here to Montreal and Quebec city...Montreal is not hard to get to from NYC so you could hit the cities in kinda a circle.

NYC pretty much has sites on every other corner, you seen them in movies or on the news, so you will have no problem finding things to get into there.

Toronto has festivals all summer longs

Some events arount T-dot

Hope that helps you a bit, let me know closer to the date and I can start a more detailed list of stuff for you to do when your here...your family will be ablle to help you aswell

And to the Family!!!!
