Do I need soap and a towel?

I'm staying at a hostel for two nights. I guess I have to bring everything? Sorry, I know it may be a silly question.

I think I may need help creating a list of stuff I should bring for a one-week trip to Mexico. If you have any links/resources, please post them.

If you stay in a hostel, I recommend you bring everything you need (soap, towel...)

It's been my experience that every hostel that I've stayed in, came with a towel and a couple of small travel size bars of soap.

Every stayed at a hotel or Motel6 with their complimentary towel and soap? Same thing applies to hostels, but smaller rooms and or dorm style rooms.
