Shouldn't be a problem - just about all laptops have a power converter "brick" on the AC cord that will handle around 110V~240V. Just make sure you have the right plug adaptor for whatever country you're visiting - those can be had really cheap - don't let anyone con you into buying a voltage converter.
If you plan on using the Internet, ethernet plugs and WiFi are the same the world over; however, I dunno about now, but as recently as a few years ago, different countries had different shaped phone plugs, so dial-up can be a trick. But there are always adapters for those as long as the modem can handle various dialtones... once again, shouldn't be a big deal.
