Finding travel buddies?

Hi all -

I'm going to Peru on Wednesday for a few weeks, kind of a short notice trip and I'm going solo. I'm pretty comfortable traveling on my own, I've done it in the past...this time there are a few things that I'm interested in doing there that I'm not sure I'd want to do alone. A lot of stuff in the north part of Peru sounds fun like traveling by boat down the Amazon or hiring a local guide to trek in the jungle to ruins that aren't traditional tourist attractions.

Anyway, the point of all this...are there any websites that backpackers/student travelers use to link up for specific stuff like this? Basically I just wish craiglist peru wasn't completely dead!

yeah the internet is a little unreliable for meeting people, stay in abhostel do a few tours and you'll be dandy
