Hey everyone!

I'm new to this board but i just wanted to get your advice. My friend and I are going to europe in late June, Im celebrating my 18th birthday more or less when i get there. We're planning to stay for 4-5 months. And the route we are thinking is basically:
England(London, Bath, Dover -- Where else?) maybe up to scotland/wales but not really sure where.. any suggestions
France (Paris--Where else?)
Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, South east spanish coast)
France (monte carlo, nice, cannes)
Italy ( pisa, florence, rome, pompeii, isle of capri?, sorrento?)
greece (petras, athens, mykonos, santorini)
croatia (croatian coast)
Italy (venice)
Slovenia (where? or should we just go thru in transit?)
Austria (salzburg, vienna)
czech republic (prague)
Switzerland (geneva)
Germany (munich, berlin)
netherlands (amsterdam)
england (london)
HOME TO SYDNEY!

our schedule is really flexible at the moment so if you guys could suggest cities or even countries that we're missing that would be great! both my friend and i are interested in music and the arts, architecture, scenary as in rolling hills, mountains, lakes, pristine beaches watever. .we're both really open so we want to take in everything so that we have a really memorable eurotrip.
we're planning on staying in hostels all the way more or less.
Any suggestions guys?where else should we go? where shouldnt we? have we missed a great country/city?

Also how much do u suggest we take? im aiming for around $15000 but thats in term of the AUS$ so i dunno if that is enough?

Any other advice?

Thanks
manda xoxo

The only glaring omission i see is Ireland - if you're going to be all over Europe, make sure you include it. Some others here might also argue for Portugal's inclusion, but I can't vouch since I've never been there

If you do go to Ireland, go west to Galway city it's a big collage town and much cheeper than Dublin, there are lots of feastivals held there and it's closer to the realy senic part of Ireland, Connemara.

i was thinking about including both of these so thankyou for convincing me. also what do u think about turkey, slovenia, slovakia, hungary and belgium? ive heard great things about all these places and would like to go to turkey to see gallipoli. Im aussie and it has a huge historical significance to us. but im not sure whether i should do it this trip or next time.
Do u think rail is the best for this trip? obviously ill need to get a ferry around greece and up the croatian coast but otherwise would rail be ok? does rail allow for travel within cities e.g. paris?/ or do i need a seperate pass?
thankyou for all your help!

I don't personally know much about central/eastern Europe... In terms of travel within cities, you'll have to buy daily tickets or a metro pass for each city. Which pass is the best deal depends on how long you plan on staying in each city. If you want a London Visitor Travelcard, for instance, you'll get a decent deal on unlimited Underground/Bus rides, but you have to purchase a voucher for it before you get to the UK. For Paris, you can get a ParisVisite card for the Metro/RER that also entitles you to discounts at various tourist attractions, but I didn't think it was worthwhile.
