2 weeks til my trip

So 2 weeks today i leave on my trip round eastern europe. but i feel like i should be a lot more prepared. the last time me and my friend discussed it properly was well over a month ago, and i feel like we should be more organised by now

i know there isnt much to do, as we have a basic travel route, and we have already booked the first couple of hostels and trains. and then we are doing what we feel like anyway

but even so, i still havent got insurance, and havent even thought about what i am taking or what i need to buy before i go, and am running out of time to do anything. i am very unmotivated as well. but i dont think that has anything to do with the trip, im always like that.

anyone else had the same problem?

I started thinking about a trip last Tuesday, started lazily scanning for hostels/hotels Wed and finally booked something on Friday morning. That left about 4 hours to get packed up and out the door Friday afternoon. It was a great trip, but definitely not the most organized!

It sounds like you've got the general stuff in order, I wouldn't worry too much about the motivation - that'll come as you get closer, or at least when you start off to the airport...

If you're worried about having everything in place in time, you might want to make a list of all the things you NEED to do before the trip (insurance, picking up any last minute stuff, packing and whatnot) and starting with the most time critical things first (maybe the insurance, if that takes a while), knock off one or maybe two things on your list each day. Then you'll feel like you're doing stuff, get a sense of accomplishment (good for motivation) and not have a last minute panic and spend the last two days rushing around like a headless chicken.

i leave in 6 days and am almost in the same boat as you except I feel like i've been obssessively preparing but still unprepared. damn..i haven't even booked trains yet...hmm..i should huh..esp. for pamplona. Anyways...look into nomad or sta for insurance. The cool thing about nomad is you can always add on as you go and you can buy (online) for the start of your trip when you're on it. And I'm w/tumbleweedz in making a do to list and slowly knocking it down, but so far you seem to have most of it covered...so breathe...relax =)
