okay - trying to make a big decision...

should i take my little tent for my 6 month european adventure or should i just rely on my sleeping bag? i'm traveling solo so i probably won't tent-it too much - much safer to stay in a hostel. but should i take it just in case? especially for events like the running of the bulls, where i've heard camping in the park is the thing to do...

it is kind of a pain in the ars to carry around even though it's small. and it could break/get stolen.

hmmmm, deep thoughts.

I've never camped in europe. But I camped in Costa Rica and It was the worst thing carrying the damn tent around. My tent was a 3 person and I thought my back was gonna break everytime I put on my pack. If you were planning on camping lots (at least four times a week) then I would say yeah bring it, but if it's a "just in case" thing I would say no. Trust me you won't want to carrying around that thing for six months. One day will be enough to convince you of that.

If you have hostels available where you are, I would go for that, at least you know where or can find out fast where they are. A tent would be good in the country ( maybe), but unless you intention is to camp, then I would not wanna lug around a tent, even my small bikers tent. I made the mistake when I went to Europe the very first time, and I was sorry, never used it once, I just never had to.

Well then you'll be mistaken for a homeless girl and ppl will give you money and food. Or you could turn this all into a panhandling business.
