I'm a first time traveller, I'll be 18 in july and plan on travelling abroad through england, france, spain, and greece.
I would like to take a mate along, but am unsure if it would be best to take a male or female friend. Also I'm curious if there is any advice you experienced travellers would have for me. Thanks

Are you male or female and will this other person be someone that you may or may not be hooking up with? I'm always a big advocate of traveling alone, but fun can definitely be had with someone else as well. Regardless of whether or not you're bonking.

Welcome to the boards!

Welcome!

I think it's less of an issue as to whether they are male or female and more of an issue as to how well do you know them and do you think you could get along for an extended period of time being together nearly 24/7.

What specific kind of advice do you need? I mean, there's advice like "don't leave home without your passport and airplane tickets" to "beware that everything is fucking CLOSED on Sundays in France". Specific questions would help.

hi and Welcome to TPunk!!! sorry i haven't done much (meaning none) travelling, but I can try and help answer some general questions. The seasoned travellers here can help you with your more indepth Q's. just be alittle more specific.

Welcome to Tpunk!

I don't think there is a travel question that a Tpunk can't answer so just do some browsing/searching in the appropriate forums.

First: welcome!

Second: Yes we will need specific questions on this one. We can all toss out hundreds of tips for this and that. Where do you plan on going? For how long?

A girl or guy would be fine as a mate. I have done both.
