yeah, so we're leaving for the UK on friday and i'm sort of concerned about how i'm going to keep my hair from looking like a rat's nest. (no feminist bashing comments from you voyd...yeah, i care how my hair looks..what of it?)
so, taking my blowdryer and flatiron would just be freakin' silly. i've been looking at leave-in conditioners and straightners and such and found one that i think will work well with my hair, but it's aerosol. will that be a problem on the plane whether it be with security or the fact that it may explode or something? (anthon and i want to carry on our bags at all costs.)
thanks guys

According to the TSA's website...
Personal care or toiletries with aerosols, in limited quantities (such as hairsprays, deodorants)
Can I take it? Carry-on - Yes Checked - Yes
So you should be good to go as long as you don't bring a case

One tip on cans of hair spray and the like. Put their caps on and tape them down. It happens that they get bumped off in the luggage, then the luggage gets compressed, ssssssssssssssss and the entire can is discharged into your bag. Mmm, nice smelling clothes!
Oh, and pack bottles of cologne perfume v-e-r-y carefully...it is almost a daily occurrence that these get broken in loading the bags into carts, onto the plane, off the plane, into carts, etc...

I usually put my liquids, aerosols, etc. into a leakproof bag, or at the very least, put them in a plastic shopping bag and tie them off. It's amazing what air pressure can do to even the most innocuous containers. Twice I've had my luggage reeking of the booze I'd put into plastic coke bottles. Oops.

I usually put anything liquid (shampoos, etc) in ziploc bags so that they don't destroy everything if they explode. On a related note, it's worth putting your undies in a clear ziploc too, so that if they open your bags, they can see what's in there without having some security guard grubbing through your delicates...
