Ok so I think I got everything set. I am pretty anal about being prepared and like to make sure I have all my bases covered. I am off for my first trip to Europe, leave in on Sunday Oct 9th and am starting to get nervous that I dont have everything.
Any last minute advice?
Heres what I got so far
2 hostels booked will book the rest while I am there and my schedule falls into place. I figured I could book the first one here and also the second, but the rest I will play by ear.
I got my bag, money belt, locks, travel soap, shampoo, hiking shoes (worn for the last week to break in), Eurail passes, Passport, money, credit cards, Ipod, and my Digi Cam.
Anything to add to that, besides clothes? A Chain lock for my bag maybe?
How strick are they about shoes into bars and clubs? I have brownish north face hiking shoes will those be acceptable?
Lastly do I need to bring my birth certificate? I hear a rumor that you need it with your passport.
Sorry for all the questions, like I said I am anal just trying to get prepared.

Not really necessary. Bring something for drinking water (a camelbak or platypus).

You'll have no problem; hiking shoes will be fine.

Onlything I regretted not doing was ripping up my return ticket. You will understand what I mean once you have been back for a while.

Don't forget plug adapters for your iPod and camera chargers!
Also, don't worry about the shoes thing. A lot of clubs in London, if that's where you're headed, have a no-trainers policy, but hiking shoes seem to be just fine everywhere I've been. They might get more picky in Paris, if you're heading over there, but you don't wanna go into those places anyway, right?
