right now to pay for my trip i am working 2 jobs, as well as being in my senior year of high school.

i work about 20 hours at one job and right now 15 at my other, but i will hopefully be working 22+ at the second job.

i will be getting $180 a week at the lower-end of the hours scale, and $220 on the higher. i still need to pay off my bag ($140) and get shoes ($100).

lots of roughing it when im out there, eating cheap things i take with me like oatmeal and stuff, and lots of camping and hostels. im going the hardcore (IE: broke) route, and il be gone for long-term, more than a year. i have no problem working, either, when im out there.

so, by mid july i will have about $2520-$3080. of course, il be spending money until then while im still at home and there is still more stuff that i need to get. am i screwed for money, work more or less, anything?

Obviously, the more money you have....well you know. But I think if you are frugal you'll be fine.

All I can say, is good luck with balancing the work and school. I tried doing that much first semester, but it KILLED me. (btw, I am also in my last year o school). Of course I did take pretty heavy courses......but still it wasnt fun. Good luck on the trip though! Sounds like a blast....I'd take a year off in a flash if I could.....oh well six weeks will hv to do for me )
