maybe you can help me. from barcelona i want to get to pamplona on the 5th july. im thinking either take a long train ride or perhaps fly into bilbao (vueling.com) then train to pamplona? from there to san sebastian on the 8th july through the 10th and then onto salamanca perhaps then madrid. a few days in madrid daytrips to toledo for sure, maybe segovia and/or avila. then on to granada for one day maybe spend the night and finally to sevilla for my flight out.

i guess what im looking for is best possible train routes and details like should i hit madrid first then daytrip salamanca? but not sure if its just best to spend one night at salamanca. same for granada.

i start in amsterdam on the 1st then barcelona on the 3rd. from there i want to hit all these spots in between and fly out of sevilla on the 17th.
anyhow if you can help me thatd be awesome.
gracias

Man your going to miss out on the most beautiful part of Spain, north and northwest. Its going to be tough doing Granada in a day. How long are you going to spend in Sevilla?

Also, you can get from Madrid to Sevilla on that super fast train (AVE train I believe). and if your looking to do the train thing go to train in spain. From my map in my guide book it would be faster to go through Madrid to get to Santander from Pamplona. And on flying from Barcelona to Bilbao, you might as well just take the train from Barcelona to San Sebastian going trhough Pamplona, to get from Bilbao to Pamplona, you have to go down to Madrid then back up to Pamplona accorded to Renfe map.

I want to get from Paris to Versailles and then Paris to Nice. I found a flight to Nice for $50, can I catch a train for cheaper? Where Can I check for train prices?

I want to get from Rome to Venice then to Florence and back to Rome, What is the quickest , most enjoyable and cheapest way to travel through Italy?

Thanks

Jaimie

Paris to Versailles is easy: You take an RER train (I think it's line C, it's the yellow one) straight there. I think r/t it'll only cost you about 7 euros. Paris to Nice, well, probably your flight will end up being either the same price or perhaps even cheaper than if you took the train. If you really want to take the train, it's best to buy tickets there. Go to the Gare du Lyon and ask the ticket agent how much it will be, I'm guessing at least 50 euros, maybe as much as 75. The TGV goes like a bat out of freaking hell down to Marseilles-- almost 200mph or so with no stops. That's about 2-3 hours or so, then you'll hop on another train in Marseilles (or you may stay on the same one) to Nice, which is about 2.5 hours because they can't go quite as fast. It's a LOVELY ride if you end up deciding to do that!

Sorry, I don't have any information about Italy to give you, but for train schedules and fares you can look at http://www.bahn.de and click on "international guests" for the english version.
