here is mine, i carry a rei gemini pack, it splits into two packs
More or less this is pretty much my concrete packing list. Odds are pretty good it will be pruned later on for space or necessity.
This list is intended for late summer early fall, and doesn't make provisions for extreme cold weather, because I figure I can handle that when it gets cold.
I have test packed all of the primary items into my bag and I have about 25% of my 3000 cubic inch bag and it weighs less than 35 pounds. if you carry a larger bag than I, than you will have no issue packing other things such as a tent and sleeping bag, or what ever loot you pick up on your trip, I actually think if I were to forego underwear I could pack a tent and sleeping bag no problem.
The clothing part also assumes I am wearing something off the list at most times, like the bag will only have two pairs of pants in it at any given point in time. A lot of people can also get by with less shirts than me, but I really like to wear two at a time.
Primary items:
Batteries AA size, I need 12-16 to get started. (luckily all the electronics I intend to take with the exception of my Ibook need AA's)
Water-proof flashlight that takes AA batteries. (dark trips to pee can end tragically without one)
Camera and SD cards and card read and remote for camera.
Ibook, power brick, and protective sleeve
Pens and small notebook (sometimes You just cant find a place to plug in your laptop)
Small Carabiners (for hooking small stuff and small bags to the daisy chain on the outside of my pack).
Motorcycle helmet bags, they come in handy for a lot of things like pillows or bags for shopping
Waterproof matches or lighter.
Zip lock bags. (keep things dry, wet things wet, and separate)
Flat toilet paper in a zip-lock bag.( toilet paper isn't free or easy to find everywhere)
None perishable foods, like granola and energy bars.
