I'm heading to europe for 5 months in about 2 weeks and for some unknown reason I'm very concerned about underwear.


I typically wear boxer-breifs (comfort and support all in one), but is this what i should pack?

I was thinking that maybe I should bring straight-up breifs as they are smaller and i might be able to fit more of them in my bag. Did anyone else here down grade to briefs? How did it work out for you?

Also, what about getting that quick-dry underwear? Is wet underwear a concern?

I always take a variety... Mostly boxer-briefs. You need some support when you're hiking all over the place!

As for wetness, I've never run into that issue. Sure, I spill a few drinks here & there, but I don't really sweat that profusely.

If you don't take that much, laundromats are usually plentiful - only they're relatively expensive in Europe, so watch out!

When it comes to your undies dude, bring whats comfortable!!!

You don't want to be walking all over Europe and be chaffin!

Personally I wear boxer briefs. I brought them and didn't find them to take up too much room.

Remember you don't need enough to make it thru your whole trip, just a few days!

Also, if you turn them inside out then backwards you can wrack up a few more days of use! I'm just kidding, please don't use this method.

just bring a roll of duct tape and tape your sausage to your stomach that way you get the support and you dont have to worry about drying anything

Commando is all well and good UNTIL you get a hole in your pants. Personally I just knit myself little penis socks when I need them. Ok, not really, but they do actually make such a thing. I read it in an outdoor magazine once I think. Maybe it's to avoid embarrassment in those mid-arctic-trek hookups....or something. My 2 cents: I'm heading over in November sport boxer briefs: Enough boxer to be comfortable, enough brief to reign in the boys.

rachal-- commando is all well and good at home where you can wash your clothes pretty frequently. But when you're traveling you may have fewer chances to do laundry... just something to think about.
