First, GREAT site. TPUNK answered 90% of my questions.

Second, I'll be taking a Translant cruise and ending up in Portsmith, UK. The gear I'll need for a classy cruise (QM2 at a discount rate) will be very different than what I'll need to hit Europe for a month. Does anyone have an idea where I can store an overnight and folding bag for that amount of time?

Third, I would like my route to take me from Portsmith to Dublin, Dublin to Paris, Paris to Rome, then back to Heathrow for a flight to the US. Even with 2-3 days at each stop, that leaves me plenty of time to explore other venues. Right? Does anyone have a route addition or suggestions on getting around? EUPASS? P2P Tickets? How do I get from Dublin to Paris?

Finally, this is the greatest emoticon of all time.

Thanks in advance...

Hello and welcome!

Luggage: I just cruised with Holland America and they offered to FedEx anything you wanted home (excess luggage, purchased goods, etc.) - I'm sure Cunard, being even more high end, should have some sort of service like that.

Dublin to Paris: Well, if you're planning on getting a Eurailpass, you can get thee to London, then use your passholder's discount to take the Eurostar train via the Chunnel to Paris. OR, you can use a LoCo airline to make the trip - check out WhichBudget.com to see who flies that route cheap. Last year, I took BMI from Dublin to Paris (via London) for dirt cheap. (flybmi.com) There's a ferry that'll take you from Ireland to France, but it takes forever and is pretty expensive.

Good luck!

I agree with Omi. Price out airfare on the low cost, budget European carriers. It may be signficantly less than a Eurail pass -- especially since your itinerary seems to have only "X Number" of stops. Ryan Air, easyjet...all of them have some pretty incredible rates...and if you luck into one of their sales, you can get fares for 1 pound sterling!

Eurail doesn't work in England/UK, so for that leg of the journey you will have to purchase a ticket. Then you'd best be ready for a loooooooooong train ride.

Check out Ryan Air or Easyjet for frighteningly low airfairs. I have heard it is best to book well in advance. I guess their pricing structure works so that a week or so before the flight is the most expensive time to buy a ticket. You can also get last minute flights for almost nothing, but that usually means you have to buy the ticket then board the plane a couple hours later - kinda risky.
