ok i just booked a 2 week contiki tour that leaves in a few days,ive nothing prepared and am thinkin of backing out so quickly!
I have only put on a deposit so theres still time to get out but heres the issues:
1.Ive wanted to strap on a backpack and head off all year cos i really wanna see a chunk of Europe and party/have some fun along the way and i only have a really short amount of time to do it in and am going solo.So contiki is a good idea.
BUT
2.I have never travelled by myself before and am slightly freakin out bout spending so much time with 40 strangers (although i am very sociable and tend to get on reali well with new people).
3.me finding my way to and around london should be interesting(unfortunate sense of direction) and ive nothing ready at all.Oh the stress.
4.the big issue here is the money-im thinkin its an awful lot of money for such a short space of time cos its gona be over €1600 for it altogether,but thats including the tour,flights,accommodation before and after and sightseeing in quite a few countries.Am i being majorly ripped off??
Please help me!!Id appreciate any advice from those who know better-really good experience or not worth it?
As for your case, how much money have you deposited - and are you willing to lose that deposit, assuming that the travel agency has this policy of not refunding you 100%.
Then the next question is, how much time do you have/want to spend on travelling and what is your alternative option?
If I were you, I won't cancel your current plan UNLESS you have a backup plan that you can put in place rather quick.

All the advice I can give you is about no sense of direction, I know all the fellow T-punkers are gonna back me up on this one but not knowing where you going can be the best thing if you have all the time in the world. by that I mean a few days to wander. You will stumble upon the best things searching for that tourist site. I was in Rome and hit up the best Pizza I ever had on my way to the collesium I just wanderd down some random road, got hungry ate this thing and was like oh my god Im sold, and lots of people can speak english they will point you in the right direction. Another great walk in Rome is to the Spanish Steps from the Plaza de Venicia, Oh the things I stumbled upon. Dude dont freak about that it will be the best part
