Hey-
I know this may be asking a bit much, but my husband and i are young students wanting to see europe on a very limited budget. We will be going to italy, greece... meteora....athens....and olympus, germany...munich and berlin, Poland..krakow, vienna, Prague, amsterdam, and Paris. We hear that campsites can be hard to find near the cities and camping in non campsites is illigel...so my guestion for you all is if we can just stay on your land for a night or two as we stop through these cities? (we will have a tent and sleeping bags...so it would jsut be staying on your front lawn or seomthing. Let me know...Britstar13@yahoo.com, Its would be greatly appreciated and we would be happy to do the same for you when you came to visit the states (California). Thanks
-Brit

Thats a good idea, but i dont think many of us are from europe... all just going to europe.

Travelpunk LawnShare...

TP should start up a Travelpunk chain of hostels, which would really just be little holiday houses for sleeping/partying all over the world for members to stay in.

Surely its a money spinner...

No such thing as asking too much, we are all here to help, and if we all do a little then nothing is too much!

Well you may be right. you may be wrong if you plan this properly, then you might have a bit of extra travl but nothing should be "not-doable"

Thats an interesting proposal, but I think you might have better luck with the camp sites. Most of the people here are either too young, or can't afford to own a plot of land, specially a plot of land near a major city in Europe. What you might wanna try is " Do you know anyone who has a plot of land we can stay on?" That might work a little better, but again, nothing is for sure.

Sounds like and wicked trip to take!!! Here are some sites that might help you find camp grounds in Europe

Interhike
Euro Camping

These might send you in the right direction, the second link you can go right down to the city you want.

Keep in mind that if you try to camp in a public park in the city, you will run the risk of hassltled by the long arm of the law, but if you found a big field outside the city, where police/people will not normally go, I can't see to much drama from you pitching you tent for the night, I think the only issue would be fire?

Hope thats helps some!! Let us know what you decide on !

The further you get from the city, the more likely you will find people to let you stay on their land, country folks every where tend to be nicer all round. Never hurts to ask right!

Be hospitable, maybe offer a few Euro to stay is the are humming and hawing, say thank you and do not leave a mess...you should do fine.
